Memento
A downloadable game for Windows
Memento is a game about fixing a broken mind. Play as both sides of the brain, the logical and the creative. Each side represents and understands things and puzzles completely different. The logical side is, well, logical! Numbers and logic is an easy task, while the more creative complexes can be hard. The creative side on the other hand is very well versed in all the creative arts. Colors and music is a breeze! Find the memories of the character you are playing as, and find out why you are here in the first place. Repair the mind, work together as both the logical and the creative arts to solve puzzles in Memento.

This is such a cool concept for multiplayer. Especially if a person is actually more left or right brain dominant.
We actually played with the idea of it being a multiplayer, but found out pretty quickly that it would take the magic of the game away. But thanks for playing our game anyway!
Good game, the color puzzle in the book took me a minute to figure out.. after that I was good to go the rest of the way.. great concept for what is basically an escape room.
Did you draw influence from the movie of the same name?
Thanks for playing our game!
No we did not, we really wanted to play with the concept on how the left and the right side of the brain functions. And with the GGJ theme “repair” there was a perfect opportunity for us to make a game about repairing the mind through small “mementoes”.
That's very interesting indeed, I was thinking it may have been inspired just because of the way the movie shifted from black and white to color.. the game doesn't quite do that exactly but it had enough parallels that I thought it might have had some influence.. the lost love, the internal dialogue ..
Either way it was very fascinating.. I especially like how the music audio sounds so odd and creepy when you shift states .. one state is vibrant and the other is murky and dark.. it's well done.
I'd love to see more of it :) I downloaded the source, I'm going to setup unity and hopefully learn from example on this one ..
Short, sweet and fun .. the only thing I had to get used to was the mouse speed being so sensitive
I can see that!
It was super interesting and fun to really exaggerate the differences between the two sides, like how the left doesn’t really know what music is.
And sorry for the mouse speed, will definitely get patched sooner or later!
For this being made in only 48 hours; this game has great premise! I cant wait to see what you guys can come up with as full time developers! I absolutely love this!
Thank you so much!

Thanks for playing the game! Looked like you struggled a bit with the color puzzle! The game has an ending.. ;)
